Don't touch your face

A web app to alert when you touch your face. Built with teachable machine

During the COVID-19 pandemic, an experimental tool was developed to help people break this unconscious habit when touching their face could increase the risk of infection. On average, we touch our faces 23 times an hour—often without realizing it. To address this, a machine learning algorithm was trained to distinguish between moments when someone touches their face and when they don't. Using your webcam, the tool monitors you in real time and provides an audio alert whenever you touch your face, gently nudging you toward behavior change. Designed specifically for people sitting at their desks, it works best in that context and may not be as effective if you're standing, lying down, or moving around.
